The history is tangible, in alleyways, courtyards, hidden corners.

The late-Gothic Martini Church oversees a city that is even older than Amsterdam.
Here the past and present have made a quiet pact.
Doesburg is unique.
The old city centre takes you back to the past.
Back to times when merchants kept a close watch on their economic strategies and Hanse
towns are sown together with the meandering IJssel as their lifeline.
It is known that those charismatic Dutch strongholds are literally strongly filled with stories.
Contrary to other Hanse towns, Doesburg lays geographically on a place where three areas
meet, which allows it to set itself further apart.
Here, encompassed by ramparts, the luscious Liemers, the velvet Veluwe and the assorted
Achterhoek come together.
And here, in this centre of small and big impressions, in the heart of the city, with many
authentic, traditional shops and numerous restaurants at your feet, the Koningshut.
The frontage of our B&B is a national monument and dates back to 1705.
But behind that charming light blue front lies a contemporary apartment, equipped with all
modern conveniences.
We would love to see you sitting in this 55m2 grand loft with a good glass of wine.
In spring and summer enjoying the sunny roof terrace, in the raw autumn and cold winter the
fireplace.
The Koningshut has its own entrance and thereby offers you all the privacy you could wish
for.
Next to that it has, in the lower laying garage, a save space for your bikes.
The Koningshut is situated next to the main house, the Keizershut, that owes its name to the
birth house of the owner, a former doctor’s residence.
The Koningshut of Doesburg was a pharmacy in older days.

The Koningshut is your medicine to settle down.
